(discuss full screen, talk about takeaway and restaurant combined, limited
people in the kitchen at one time for amount of orders)
5)Best aspects of working here?
6)Name each different area of the kitchen and explain a little bit about each one (potwash, cut, pan dough, make, fryers)
7)Hardest aspects of working here?
8)Give us a situation where it has been stressful for you? (a story where the kitchen has been really busy)
9)How many hours do you work a week and what impact does this have on you?
10)How many pizzas need to be prepped for a buffet shift or night shift? (talk about starting early to prep opens)
Planning this interview. When arranging and planning these questions I would normally simply have the questions written down, however with this interivew I've added pointers in brackets. This is something I would not normally do but with my subject never have being interviewed before and me wanting to collect specific bits of information to match with the cutaways I will be filming it seemed necessary. This will also be a technique to again make my subject feel more relaxed and not have to think to hard about the questions as it's all laid out there in front of them.
The interview will be recorded on a lav mic while the interviewee is working in the kitchen. The choice of interviewee was difficult I had many options. I managed to narrow it down to three different options however I chose Michael as I was closer and could relate to him more. Alongside this hopefully he's younger and hopefully will give me more interesting answers and although I don't want to make my documantary overly personal maybe give me some interesting stories and insight because he does work a lot for such a young age. This will lead to a different emotional impact on viewers if you have someone who's seventeen and working fourty hours a week hopefully it will interest/impact them.
The choice of location is obviously important and although I could just say "the kitchen" it's slightly more complicated. It can't be in view of any customers so will have to be around the back and be directed while working which could naturally affect the answers to questions. To counteract this I aim to conduct it at around 3:30pm on a monday (the lowest peak time) to achive the best answers while still capturing some good footage.
